Ferdinand Piëch stared through the ink on their clipboards
And did not blink.

The world inherited a widowmaker.

The greatest hands on earth climbed out,
Shook the white-knuckle tremors from their fingers,
And walked away.

So they went back to the dark room.
They sliced the tail, reshaped the invisible rivers of air,
And called it the Kurzheck.

Still a razor blade.

Still demanding a sacrifice.

But now, it possessed a point.

1970 - Le Mans.
Gulf blue like an open sea.
Gulf orange like a burning sun.
A canvas that arrested time itself.

For twenty-four hours the world shrank to a straight line.
When the checkered cloth finally fell,
The rain-soaked asphalt belonged to Porsche.

Their first holy grail.

The authorities exiled the beast shortly after.
A brief era. A brutal triumph. Eternal.

An icon merely pointed a lens — The most honest celluloid ever cut.

He simply stood clear of the lightning.
